L'amour selon les dieux, circa 1770-1780 Folded fan, the skin sheet mounted in English style and painted on a beige background with five medallions. Among garlands of flowers, two medallions are painted with purple ships. In the center, the butterfly-winged god Zephyr appears before Flore in her garden. On the left, Meleager offers the head of the boar Calydon to Atalanta. On the right, Daphne transforms into a tree before Diana's eyes as Apollo pursues her. White mother-of-pearl mounting, richly engraved in silver and gold with doves and altars of Love, recalling the subject of the leaf.
